background & education
At 32 years old, Michael is part of the Generation Y group of Internet users, thanks to
AOLs direct mailing of CD-Roms and 3 1/2” floppy disks and an annoying dial up sound heard
through homes across the U.S., from the early-to-mid 1990s. His years of experience and
knowledge with the World Wide Web and Internet culture turned from casual use to business
oriented shortly after graduating high school. In 2003, Michael earned a BSBA with minors
in Psychology and Sociology, and is certified in Cognitive Management. Combined with over
14 years experience in marketing, social media, design/development, sales and promotions,
customer relations and leadership building, online and off, Michael's expertise and
results-driven services are sought after by businesses large and small. He has been
nominated for several awards and regularly speaks at events, seminars, colleges and
universities.
In 2008, at 26 years old, Michael designed and developed The Social Tweep, a social media
marketing agency designed to help small businesses, non-profits & brands on a limited
budget break into the Twitter and Facebook "New" media explosion. In just 3 years after
launching The Social Tweep, he grew his audience to an engaged community of over 85,000.
Today, through social media, social bookmarking, online communities, blogging and content
curation, Michael reaches over 68,000 social media users daily and 425,000 people monthly
across the web. He has been rated in the Top 1% of most influential social media users in
the United States (Top 7% globally). Michael has been featured on Mashable, Technorati,
Under30CEO, The Entreprenette Gazette and other advice, opinion and news sources.
